FirstDay Federal Credit Union sponsors its own scholarship! The Change the Future Scholarship Fund was established to make the dreams and education of credit union members seeking a degree possible—and we do it through the help of our employees and members.

FirstDay is pleased to offer two $1,500 scholarships to area college and university students who are members of FirstDay. We will begin accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year in the spring of 2012.

You Can Help Too

Maybe you have noticed that on Fridays, FirstDay's employees are dressed more casually, but did you know that we all pay for that privilege?

Commonly known as Casual for a Cause, each participating employee donates a set amount of money in exchange for being allowed to dress down on Fridays. If you would like to help out, next time you’re in one of our four area service centers, just drop some of your pocket change into the scholarship donation bucket.

For your donation, you can sign one of our oversized hundred dollar bills and we will post it on the wall so other FirstDay members know that you care about the community.

Ohio Credit Union League College Scholarship

In addition to the scholarships offered by FirstDay, you might also want to apply for a scholarship offered by the Youth Involvement Committee of the Miami Valley Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union League.

They offer several $1,000 scholarships. Anyone pursuing a college level degree, anticipating being a full time college student, maintaining a 2.5 grade point average, living or attending school in the Miami Valley (Miami Valley Counties are: Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby) and either they or a family member are a credit union member, are eligible. Also, one local scholarship recipient will be chosen to participate in the statewide scholarship program sponsored by the Ohio Credit Union League that will award four scholarships worth $2,500 each. If selected, the original application will be entered in the statewide program. The information you provide will help us to determine the recipients of this year’s awards.
